Curriculum Development

At JWU, we create our own curriculum with input from industry's top chefs and companies through our innovative “DACUM” ( Developing a Curriculum) approach to career analysis.

Through DACUM, industry leaders unite and discuss the competencies and tasks you need to know in order to succeed in your chosen career. We listen closely and use this information to assess and improve curricula.

Why do we do this? Because employers don't want to hire chefs who only know classical techniques. They prefer chefs with a breadth of knowledge who can perform the latest techniques with creativity and ingenuity, as well as those with a competency in management and critical thinking skills — something other ordinary cooking schools won't teach you.
