JWU Alum Pairs With Chocolatier to Win Food Network Challenge

By fashioning 140 pounds of white chocolate, well known chocolatier Jorg Amsler and Executive Pastry Chef Sean Pierce `05 created a 3-foot tall replica of the Taj Mahal to win the “Chocolate Landmarks” challenge on the Food Network. As a result of their victory, the pairing took home the grand prize of $10,000.

The rules of the competition required that the contestants’ creations be made entirely out of chocolate. With only eight hours to finish their creation, Amsler and Pierce spent a large portion pouring different chocolate molds to shape the famous dome and towers of the Indian monument.

The “Chocolate Landmarks” show marked the third time the pair appeared on the Food Network to test their skills against some of the best chefs in the country. When Amsler and Pierce aren’t busy traveling to televised competitions across the country, they can be found at Truly Jorg’s Patisserie in Saugus, Massachusetts, creating mouth-watering desserts for their happy customers.
