JWU to Appear in Shaquille O’Neal’s Reality TV Show on ABC

The new reality TV series “Shaq’s Big Challenge” showcases Shaq and his hand-picked “dream team” of experts on a crusade to help transform six middle school Florida students into healthy, fit kids while also demonstrating how other communities can fight childhood obesity.

One of Shaq’s dream team members is Food Network celebrity chef and J&W alumnus Tyler Florence ’94. Florence joins Shaq and other team members to develop and implement a wellness program to lay the groundwork for a fitness plan that can be used throughout Florida and as a template for the entire country.

The fourth episode, airing on Tuesday, July 17 from 9 – 10pm (ET), gives air time to J&W's North Miami Campus and several culinary students who worked with Tyler Florence testing and sampling recipes for healthy dishes in one of the kitchens labs. The show makes its debut with the first episode airing on June 26.
