Jules Ramos

Chef Jules Ramos is one of Rhode Island’s most successful chefs and and has cooked at some of the states most popular restaurants: InProv, Angels, Café Nuovo, and the Mills Tavern. His dishes have been deemed “highly spirited global gastronomic tours” by the Artful Diner, and Meredith Ford of the Providence Journal has raved about his “uncanny ability in the kitchen.”

Ramos initially debated on a career in engineering, but decided to follow his passion for food instead. Throughout his high school and college careers, he worked in various restaurants around the state, beginning his career at Archie’s Tavern. Ramos remembers being told at Archie’s, “you aren’t really a chef until you have been at it for twenty years.” With that in mind, he decided to enroll at J&W's Providence campus, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts.

Today, Ramos is the executive chef/owner of his dream restaurant, Moda, which means style in Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. Ramos says, “Moda was an exciting opportunity,” allowing him to create a menu that has been described as “progressive American cuisine.” He has been involved in every facet of the operation. Working with his partner Dino Passaretta, the duo have made Moda a sleek, modern restaurant that lives up to its name.
